YNYS is a creative, design-led studio based in rural Carmarthenshire.
Our studio is led by Robert Lisle RIBA RSAW, an architect with twenty years project experience in Wales, the United Kingdom and Australia.
We offer more than plans and planning applications. We design to inspire, solve problems and improve the lives of people that use our buildings. YNYS designs homes, galleries, schools, universities and sports facilities. Any project where our expertise can add value.
Communication is key. We will listen to your requirments and help you develop a design brief before putting forward a range of solutions. As architects we use a collaborative approach to projects, drawing on our experience to effectively engage with and work with clients, stakeholders and specialists.

Robert Lisle RIBA RSAW, Architect & Director
Robert was brought up in Swansea and completed a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Architecture at the University of Manchester and University of Bath respectively.
His formative years as an architect were spent at renowned London practice Grimshaw where he gained project running experience on a range of high profile projects in the UK and overseas. This period allowed him to develop skills related to client and stakeholder engagement and lead teams of architects and specialists from conceptual design to completion on site.
Robert was co-founder of Union Architects in 2014 where he nourished a long running passion for contemporary private houses and alterations to existing properties, enjoying the chance to get to know clients and how they live prior to proposing bespoke architectural solutions. During this phase of his career, he was able to refocus on contemporary, contextual design - projects involving historical or listed structures and conservation areas.
Robert returned to practice in west Wales in 2017 and founded his new studio, YNYS in 2024.
